I love making plates but hate plates that have a flat base as I feel this is too much raw clay potentially scratching table surfaces. I developed this tool after I had a large order of plates come in for one customer and I wanted to ensure consistency over the set.
The best foot tool gives a really lovely shaped foot which is the perfect height if you want to glaze the base of your plate or just want to have minimal raw ceramic touching the ground.

The best foot hole size - Width: 8mm. Height: 6mm
As will all my ribs, this tool comes with a small magnet on the back so you can store it on a magnetic tool rack – no more rooting around in drawers or tubs trying to find the tool you need!
This is a made to order 3D printed item. It is made out of PLA filament which is a recyclable, natural thermoplastic polyester that is derived from renewable resources such as corn starch or sugar cane. It is biodegradable under certain conditions.

A great tool for a better foot

This arrived so fast and I got to use it for a rim on a bubble pot and I'm WOWED. I haven't used it for a foot yet but I'm so hype to, it really is a little game changer. Also love that it is hot pink and has a magnet. It is nice to use beautiful things!

The Best Foot Rib is well made from high quality materials and even comes with a strong magnet to pop onto something so it’s easy to keep track of. I used it to round off the rim of a hand built tumbler and it made the job super fast, easy and shaped the rim perfectly. I did buy it specifically for that purpose as well as shaping the foot on my thrown pots which it also does exceptionally well and quickly. This is my first time using it and I’m so happily impressed that I’m already thinking of getting the bigger one. This might be one of my favorite tools already!

Note that this product comes from the UK which means it will take a month or more for you to receive it. That being said, it is a quality tool. I haven't used it yet, but I am considering buying more of her tools for two reasons; 1) they are well made, and 2) they are pink and will not be confused with anyone else's tools.

This wonderful little gadget is also great for rims!!! I have not even tried it yet on bowls, but, it's perfect for the rims of my slab built ceramic mugs! I give this product an A+. Every pottery studio should have one!!
